We thought last year’s Christmas jamboree medley went rather well so we’re doing it again with – you’ve guessed – 1983’s Jamboree Bag 2!
On December the 8th at indigo2 we’ll be playing the medley from one side of the album live in the opening half of the show for the first and only time ever. Ok, so it’s not the 30th anniversary of the album like last year’s event was for the original Jamboree bag so 29 years will have to do as we can’t wait ’til next year to do it! As ever the second half of the show is the full C&D live experience with all your Rockney faves. Add to that a support slot from the excellent Buster Shuffle and you’ve got all you need to kick-start Christmas.
You’d be loopy to miss it!
Tickets are available here and here

We’re pleased to confirm the broadcast date of the BBC Four Chas & Dave documentary. It will be aired on Friday October 26th at 9pm (BBC Four, obviously!). Don’t miss it!

We were extremely saddened to hear of the passing of our old friend ‘big’ Jim Sullivan on Monday. For those who don’t know, Jim was the first British rock ‘n’ roll guitar hero and was a direct influence on the guitar legends who followed such as Jeff Beck and Eric Clapton.
We first became friends with Jim during our session days in the late 60s/early 70s. Not only was he a fine guitarist but also a brilliant arranger/producer in the studio. It was Jim who set up the Retreat record label (with producer Derek Lawrence) which released the debut Chas & Dave album, ‘One Fing ‘n’ Anuvver’ in 1975 – thus giving us our first break.

Jim inspired us to write the song ‘Gertcha’ (originally titled ‘Woortcha’) as it was our buzz word during sessions and became an in-joke. He suggested a song with that title would be a hit, and the rest is history!
Jim played on and arranged many hit albums, one of which was the 1975 Labi Siffre album ‘Hear My Song’, which we played on and that included the track ‘I Got The’ – this was of course sampled as the main rhythm track on Eminem’s smash hit ‘My Name Is’. It was Jim who arranged the particular section used by Eminem – a break-down in the middle of the song.

But as well as his talent, Jim was a lovely man who will be sorely missed. Our thoughts are with his wife Norma and family. And we urge anyone who doesn’t know the history of big Jim to investigate.

Chas & Dave live 2013..You may already have heard rumours so we are pleased to confirm that Chas & Dave will be doing some shows around the country next spring. The reaction from the 2011 tour plus the deluge of emails we’ve had urging C&D to get together to play at the Olympics etc. made this happen. THE stars of the McCoy’s Premier League Darts have teamed up with Chas Hodges & his band to record a charity single to be released in May called “Got My Ticket For The Darts”.

The legendary singer has written the catchy song to celebrate the recent success of darts at the top level, having been captivated by his visits to major televised PDC tournaments.

Chas and his band linked up with Phil Taylor, Adrian Lewis, James Wade, Gary Anderson, Raymond van Barneveld, Simon Whitlock, Andy Hamilton and Kevin Painter, as well as walk-on girl Jacqui Adams, to record the video for the single.

The song will be released exclusively on iTunes on Friday May 18 after being premiered at the McCoy’s Premier League Darts Play-Offs at The O2 in London the previous night.

Proceeds from the single will be donated to the Haven House Children’s Hospice.

Phil Taylor, the 15-time World Champion, said: “It’s been great fun recording with Chas and the band, and hopefully the record will raise lots of money for Haven House.

“It’s a brilliant tune, really catchy, and I’m sure when people hear the song they’ll be singing along like we’ve all been!”

Haven House Children’s Hospice cares for youngsters aged 19 and under in north and east London and Essex who have life-limiting illnesses, as well as providing support for their families. For more information, visitwww.havenhouse.org.uk.

Watch out for exclusive previews of the video and behind-the-scenes footage at www.pdc.tv in the coming weeks.

We’ve kept it under wraps but Chas & Dave have been in the studio with Karl Pilkington recording a special version of Aint No Pleasing You for the final ever episode of An Idiot Abroad. This was a bit of a ‘Jim’ll Fix It’ moment for Karl and, being big fans of the show themselves, the boys were more than happy to grant him his wish. Catch the episode on Sky One, Monday November 14th at 10pm.

A second Christmas Jamboree Bag date has been added at the indig02 for December 22nd. Check live dates page for ticket links.

We’re delighted to announce that due to public demand, the boys will be playing a special Christmas Jamboree show at the Indigo2 on December 23rd. In the first half of a two part set, They’ll be playing the full medley from the first Christmas Jamboree Bag album live for the first time ever to mark the 30th anniversary of its release. Well, that’s the tour done with…and the boys can’t thank all the fans enough for making it such a fantastic experience for all. The Chas & Dave Final Tour Set list Vote!

Thanks for all your votes so far and keep ‘em coming. We have a provisional shut-off date for the vote of the 25th of February but we’re flexible as the tour set is likely to evolve as the tour progresses.

For the final tour we’ll be asking you the fans what songs you’d like to hear.

You can choose a list of three songs and email them to us here. Shortly before the tour starts we’ll count up the votes and the most popular songs will go into the set.

Bear in mind that the boys have quite a few songs in the back catalogue so we’re looking for requests of songs that haven’t been played for some time or maybe never played live before ( it’s highly likely they’ll be playing all the hits on this tour so be creative and avoid voting for the ‘obvious’ ones!)

So start by refreshing your memory with the discography page here, browse through some albums, and get voting!

(sorry, as it’s a family show, no votes for the ‘B***ocks Song’ please! – no football songs either!)
